The Women’s Club (TWC) is a members' club for women, run by women. We offer an exceptional calendar of public events, member events, and private functions within a unique, boutique venue in Sydney overlooking Hyde Park.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations and Events Coordinator to join our small, values-driven team.

The Women's Club (TWC) is a historic Sydney institution established by women for women in 1901. TWC provides a welcoming space for all women active in the community, the professions, arts and public life, to advance, connect and engage. TWC offers its members rich cultural experience, stylish dining, accommodation and opportunities for networking and friendship in Sydney overlooking Hyde Park.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless delivery of events and functions, while overseeing key operational aspects of the Club. You will support both internal programming and private venue hire, manage catering and logistics, and act as a key point of contact for members, suppliers and staff. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Events Coordination – Plan and coordinate TWC public events, member events, and special programming, including preparation of run sheets and on-the-day oversight
  • Private Functions – Liaise with members and guests to plan and deliver private functions, upsell venue offerings, and coordinate logistics
  • Hospitality Oversight – Coordinate catering with internal and external contractors, ensure wine stock is maintained, and the dining room operates smoothly
  • Venue Operations – Manage room bookings, staffing rosters, casual team coordination, and supplier relationships within budget
  • Member Engagement – Support members with bookings and logistics to ensure a positive experience for all members
  • General Administration – Maintain schedules, coordinate with the CEO, and ensure all operational and event-related tasks are handled with care and precision

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in event coordination, venue operations, or program delivery
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence working with suppliers, staff, and VIP guests
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt as needed
  • Familiarity with rostering, budgets, and venue logistics
  • Availability to work part-time (3-4 days per week), with some flexibility for evening events

Desirable qualities

  • Experience working with member-based organisations, cultural institutions, or hospitality venues
  • An interest in women’s leadership, cultural programming, or the arts

  • Remuneration is based on experience and career-level. The bracket is pro-rata FTE $70-85k.
