About the Role

The Research Assistant will support the successful delivery of a research project which will focus on uncovering global and local insights into family violence prevention. The role will involve working closely with the Chief Investigator (Jess Hill) and relevant stakeholders. The role is responsible for data collection and analysis, research synthesis, project coordination, and administrative support to ensure smooth execution of the project.

This is a part-time position for 3 days per week until 30 March 2026 and is externally funded.

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting literature reviews, synthesising research, analysing data, and ensuring compliance with research ethics and data confidentiality.
  • Preparing briefing papers, reports, and evidence-based recommendations derived from research findings.
  • Supporting project planning and implementation, tracks milestones, and ensures timely task completion.
  • Coordinating communication with stakeholders and preparing meeting agendas and documentation.
  • Providing administrative support, manages scheduling and travel logistics, and maintains accurate records of meetings.

  • Good research skills, including data analysis and report writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers and community organisations.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Expertise in domestic and family violence policy frameworks in Australia
  • Proficiency in qualitative research methodologies and ethical considerations in trauma-related research

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $105,814 to $117,057 pa (HEW 7) (pro-rata)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is part time ( FTE 0.6, 3 days per week) and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis until 30 March 2026
