About the role

Working in a part-time capacity, the Aging Well Coordinator will:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategies to engage older LGBTIQA+ people and people living with HIV (PLHIV).
  • Build and maintain relationships with aged care providers and support organisations to promote Silver Rainbow Training and Rainbow Connection.
  • Recruit clients, assess client referrals and visit potential clients to link them to Rainbow Connection if appropriate.
  • Respond to any issues that arise for clients or volunteers during visits that occur through Rainbow Connection.
  • Maintain professional case notes and record-keeping for all programs as required.

About you

You will have a tertiary qualification/s in an appropriate discipline such as social work, aged care or community development, and/or commensurate experience. You will also bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated ability to support aged LGBTIQA+ clients, clients with disability, and people living with HIV (PLHIV).
  • Experience in project coordination, evaluation and reporting.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships and experience engaging effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Volunteer experience and a commitment to the delivery of services by volunteers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic team setting.
  • An understanding of, and affinity with, the communities we serve.
