The Wadeye Women’s Art and Activity Centre Manager will lead, manage, and grow the Centre to ensure it is a culturally safe, creative, and empowering space for Aboriginal women. The role focuses on supporting artistic expression, cultural activities, community engagement, and well-being, while managing the day-to-day operations and building strong partnerships.

To be successful you'll have:

  • Strong understanding and commitment to Aboriginal culture, particularly women’s roles and leadership.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities, preferably in art, culture, health, or community development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in program development, coordination, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage budgets and funding agreements.
  • High level of cultural competency and a strengths-based approach.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander woman
  • Knowledge of arts-based practice and creative industries
  • Experience in grant writing or fundraising

Essential Licences / Clearances prior to commencement

  • NT Drivers Licence (Class C)
  • National Police Check
  • NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card
  • NLC work/residential permits (with assistance from TDC)

The Wadeye Community, (formerly Pt Keats) NT, is located in the Western Daly River region – an area rich in cultures, wildlife and ecosystems. Wadeye is the Territory's 6th most populous town and one of Australia's largest remote indigenous communities. We support the Wadeye community through a range of areas including Housing & Construction, NDIS, Aged Care, Employment & Training, Enterprise Development and more.
