Youth and Events Manager

Temple Society Australia

ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION

The Temple Society Australia (TSA) is an independent progressive Christian community based in Melbourne. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to building a more just, compassionate world in harmony with our environment – achieved through strong community connections. This vision drives and informs all our actions:

Fairer – a deep commitment to social justice

Kinder – compassion and dignity for all

More sustainable – living in harmony with our environment

The values of trust, acceptance and respect are the cornerstones of our community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Youth and Events Manager, you’ll be the energy behind some of our most loved community gatherings and the creativity behind our youth engagement programs. From coordinating large annual events to running small, meaningful youth activities, you’ll have the chance to shape experiences that align with TSA’s values and deepen people’s sense of community.

You'll work closely with a supportive Executive Officer, a dedicated Youth and Events Committee and our broader membership base to make sure events and initiatives align with our values and community focus. Your work will help strengthen community connections and support the involvement and development of young people.

ABOUT YOU

You’re an energetic and organised person who thrives on building relationships, creating memorable events and supporting young people to thrive.

You bring experience in planning and delivering events, ideally in a community setting and you're comfortable managing budgets, logistics and volunteers. You understand the value of inclusive, youth-led programs and are confident designing initiatives that inspire and empower.

You may have qualifications in event management, youth work or community development - or equivalent experience that demonstrates your ability. You’ll also need a current Working with Children Check and be able to obtain a Police Check, First Aid and relevant safety certificates.

But above all, you’re community-minded, practical and share our focus on inclusion, fairness and caring for others.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

  • Flexible part-time hours (15–25 hours per week) with some remote work possible
  • Office space available at our Bentleigh location
  • Supportive leadership and collaborative team culture
  • Opportunity to shape programs and events that genuinely make a difference
  • Connection to a warm, intergenerational community
  • A varied and creative role with scope for personal and professional growth
  • Alignment with a purpose-led organisation making real impact in people’s lives
