SecondBite is committed to positive change through redirecting surplus food, otherwise destined for landfill, to agencies and people facing food insecurity in a safe and timely manner.
As part of the SecondBite organisation, FareShare operates Australia’s largest non-profit kitchens in Melbourne and Brisbane, where chefs, cooks and volunteers transform this rescued and donated food, as well as produce grown on their own kitchen gardens, into millions of delicious, nutritious meals each year for people experiencing need.

The purpose of the Community Volunteer Coordinator is to engage and coordinate our community of volunteers, who give their time to our kitchens, warehouses and administration. These volunteers are vital in ensuring we can grow, cook and deliver food to our charity partners for people in need.
Reporting to the Community Volunteer Manager based in Victoria, we are looking for a Community Volunteer Coordinator to job share through the week for the following hours:
Note: there is flexibility to switch to the morning shift, based on the job share position.
These roles have enormous reach and potential, so having the right people who are enthusiastic, creative and organised is our ideal. In addition to the volunteer program, you will be the face of the organisation on site, managing the reception area and working closely with stakeholders to ensure the site is running smoothly.
We are approximately 1,400 volunteers strong nationally. Our Community Volunteer Coordinators plays a valuable role in connecting and engaging with current volunteers and candidates.
