Position Purpose

The purpose of the Community Volunteer Coordinator is to engage and coordinate our community of volunteers, who give their time to our kitchens, warehouses and administration. These volunteers are vital in ensuring we can grow, cook and deliver food to our charity partners for people in need.

Reporting to the Community Volunteer Manager based in Victoria, we are looking for a Community Volunteer Coordinator to job share through the week for the following hours:

  • PM - 12pm to 6pm, Monday to Thursday

Note: there is flexibility to switch to the morning shift, based on the job share position.

These roles have enormous reach and potential, so having the right people who are enthusiastic, creative and organised is our ideal. In addition to the volunteer program, you will be the face of the organisation on site, managing the reception area and working closely with stakeholders to ensure the site is running smoothly.

We are approximately 1,400 volunteers strong nationally. Our Community Volunteer Coordinators plays a valuable role in connecting and engaging with current volunteers and candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Attract and engage new volunteers
  • Recruit and onboard volunteers, providing an engaging induction to ensure safety and awareness
  • Run Information Sessions (confidence in public speaking is a must!)
  • Collaborate with your stakeholders to plan and assess needs
  • Deliver meaningful reports
  • Manage reception duties
  • Ensure compliance and safety

You bring to the role:

  • Qualifications in social services, education, human resources or similar are desirable.
  • Experience coordinating a high volume volunteer program is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and community members.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, experience writing engaging newsletters is highly desirable.
  • Highly organised and excellent time management.
  • Experience in a profit for purpose organisation, FMCG, hospitality or similar will be highly regarded.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs.
  • Experience with Volunteer Management software is desirable.
