The River Nile Learning Centre (RNLC) is a not-for-profit organisation providing a free and safe learning space with holistic support to women from refugee, asylum seeker, and CALD backgrounds to build capacity and thrive in the community.
The women we support are often unable to enrol in formal education or employment programs due to their age, visa status, or personal circumstances. Our core programs include foundation English and digital literacy classes, supported by essential services such as food relief, public transport cards, wellbeing programs, and social support.
RNLC operates flexibly, offering classes over four days per week to accommodate students’ schedules. We adopt a holistic, trauma-informed approach that allows us to respond to the evolving needs of the women and families we support.
We are looking for a motivated and values-driven volunteer to support our grants and fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing and research skills, an interest in community development, and a passion for advancing social impact through resource generation.
The Grants and Fundraising Volunteer will work closely with the General Manager and communications team to identify and apply for funding opportunities, maintain accurate grant records, and assist in developing donor engagement strategies. Your contribution will directly help RNLC continue providing vital programs and services to women from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.
