    We are looking for an experienced Psychologist / Therapist to join their " Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect team" based in Campbelltown, New South Wales
    Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN) is a researched community-based treatment model directed at families with children aged 6-17 years old. This internationally recognised program is designed for families who have come to the recent attention of child protection services and has proven to keep families together, prevent children entering out-of-home care, ensure children and young people are safe, and reduce mental health difficulties experienced by adults and children. The MST-CAN program is particularly effective for children who may have a history of trauma and/or neglect. For more information see https://www.ozchild.org.au/mst-can/
    As a member of this team, you will deliver treatment according to the multisystemic therapy principles with the aim of producing positive change for children and families. MST-CAN provides intensive treatment to families for a period of around 6 to 9 months including specific clinical treatments that target areas such as trauma, mental health and drug and alcohol misuse.

    Your role:

  • Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active, change-oriented treatment (e.g. CBT, PE, and RBT) that demonstrates compliance with the nine MST Principles.
  • Undertake drug screens or breathalysers for parents or young people using substances.
  • Identify and overcome any barriers to engagement or treatment.
  • Implement treatment plans and review treatment procedures using the MST Analytic Process.
  • Maintain timely, clear, and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback.
  • Participate in all MST-CAN training, supervision and consultation activities.

Essential requirements:

  • Masters Degree or Minimum Bachelor’s degree in psychology or social work, with equivalent and relevant clinical experience plus registration is highly desirable  
    • Experience in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy including trauma treatment, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, and behaviourally based treatments.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience using evidence based clinical practices and their application to treat families
  • Experience in the child and family welfare field - Child Protection, Out of Home Care, Family Services and/or other services working with vulnerable families and children

  • SCHCADS 6 – 6.3  106,389.92 to $ 111,092.80 plus super ( negotiable upon experience)
  • Salary packaging $ 15900 plus $ 2650 meals & entertainment or living expenses card
      Car allowance $ 15,000 / Car
      On call allowance $ 5000
