An exciting opportunity has arisen within our OzChild family in our Campbelltown team.

TFCO-C is an evidence-based treatment program which supports children aged 7-11 with a history of trauma and resulting complex behaviours, including aggression, poor school engagement, poor peer relationships, poor coping and social skills, low self-esteem, and difficulties with self-regulation. An individualised treatment plan is developed for each young person in the program with goals that focus on improving emotional and behavioural functioning. promoting positive educational outcomes. and building strong family relationships. A young person’s goals are met through close supervision, fair and consistent limits, predictable consequences, and supportive relationships with mentoring adults. TFCO-C provides a high level of support and intervention to children in a home environment through the care of an approved and specially trained TFCO treatment foster parent.

The TFCO-C model includes several components such as: training and support for the treatment foster parents, family therapy for the young person’s parent/aftercare family. skills training. education support, case coordination and consultation.

What you will do:

  • Provide one to one support and therapy for children in the program
  • On call duties via phone 24/7 on a roster once a month (weekend only)
  • Behavioural Therapy
  • Fun, creative sessions with young people
  • Working with trauma based behaviours
  • Complete all training in line with TFCO
  • Help young people overcome significant barriers

Who we are looking for:

  • Tertiary Qualification in, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Counselling or Family Therapy
  • Knowledge of and an understanding of family systems and theory
  • Cognitive behavioural and behaviour change therapy application
  • Social learning theory
  • An understanding of cultural contexts and the unique needs of Aboriginal children and young people.
  • Experience working with young people one on one
  • Valid Full Australian Driving Licence (essential)

OzChild offers:

  • Part time permanent role 4 days per week
  • Ex-gratia days Easter & Christmas
  • SCHCADS 5 $97,377.80 (pro rata to 4 days) plus super & salary packaging $ 15,900 plus $ 2650 meals and entertainment
  • Expert training in the TFCO model
  • Team based treatment environment with intensive collaboration and training, supervision and consultation
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900
  • A laptop and phone so you can work on the road and from home
