In replacement of a cover letter, please download the attached Selection Criteria Response Template and provide a response against each of the following selection criteria:
- Relevant undergraduate degree with post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part 1 certification in genetics counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
- Relevant clinical experience with evidence of high levels of knowledge in genetic counselling. At least 3 years clinical experience as a genetic counsellor is required for Level 2 appointment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and well developed letter writing skills.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with experience with MS office, databases, presentations and pedigree drawing software.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary setting and to organise individual workloads to meet deadlines, commitments and standards of performance.
- A sound understanding of issues related to privacy, confidentiality and ethics.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and commitment to working towards Part 2 accreditation as a Genetic Counsellor by the Human Genetic Society of Australasia.
