The National Association of Visual Arts (NAVA) is an independent, not-for-profit, membership organisation which brings together the many voices of the contemporary arts sector to improve fundamental conditions of work and practice. We do this through advocacy, education and the Code of Practice for Visual Arts, Craft and Design (the Code). NAVA’s vision is that the visual arts are vital, sustainable and ethical.
In addition to championing the rights of artists as workers and setting standards for fair and equitable engagement, NAVA supports artists and arts workers through a range of services, including insurance, professional development and education, the Artists’ Benevolent Fund, auspicing, and one-on-one advice and support.
NAVA is committed to fostering a welcoming, respectful, culturally safe and non-discriminatory environment that centres the voices of underrepresented communities. We encourage applications from First Nations peoples, racially marginalised people, and d/Deaf and Disabled people, and are committed to working together toward a more inclusive and equitable contemporary arts sector.
Working closely with the Executive Director and General Manager, the Development Officer will identify and secure funding, foster strategic partnerships, and build donor relationships. This 12-month pilot role is designed to become self-sustaining through the revenue it helps to generate.
At NAVA, we celebrate diversity and are dedicated to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all employees. We believe a range of perspectives enriches our work and strengthens our community. We look forward to welcoming a new team member who shares our commitment to the arts and positive sector impact.
NAVA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to a working environment which is welcoming, respectful, safe, nondiscriminatory and free of harassment for First Nations, racially marginalised and d/Deaf and Disabled people.
