About the opportunity

This position is part of a multidisciplinary team of case managers and counsellors providing a range of services to vulnerable members of the Boroondara community based in Camberwell. In this client-focused role, you will deliver high-quality, client-centred casework, including intake, assessment, and allocation of services.

You’ll work closely with internal staff, pro bono professionals, students, and external referral pathways to provide tailored support to individuals, families, and communities. Ideal candidates will have a Social Work qualification, casework experience in community services, knowledge of child safety and family violence frameworks, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and continuous improvement. What you will be doing

  • Provide responsive, client-centred case management services
  • Conduct intake, risk assessments, and allocate referrals appropriately
  • Support and guide pro bono workers, students, and community support staff
  • Maintain accurate client files and data in TrakCare or other relevant systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Assist with organisational practice including responding to high-risk situations and promoting continuous improvement

What you will bring: Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Social Work within a community services environment
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of intake and assessment for counselling services and casework service including in risk assessment
  • Demonstrated experience to develop and provide innovative services to young people, individuals, families and couples including group facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family violence and child safety practice
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
