We currently have two exciting opportunities to work within our Finance team as a Finance Officer, to contribute to the delivery of AP / AR and Payroll and Finance Administration.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer is responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations for Guide Dogs transactions, as well as ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and providing generalist finance support during times of leave.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertake and process accounts payable, accounts receivable, weekly banking and reconciliations.
  • Undertake debt collection processes, including follow up with debtors.
  • Assist with stock management, including reporting and reconciling.
  • Provide payroll administration support and payroll related queries in line with legislation.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Provide back-up support to the Finance team as required.

This role is 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week), with flexibility offered on how these hours are spread.

About you

With proven experience as a Finance Officer, you will be a self-starter with sound knowledge and experience of accounts payable and receivable processing, undertaking account reconciliations and ability to assist with GST, FBT and quarterly BAS preparation. You will have high computer literacy particularly with accounting software and be able to demonstrate efficient and accurate data entry skills. Strong customer service paired with excellent communication and administration skills will see you excel in this role.

Other key competencies include:

  • Ability to prioritise and meet accounting timelines.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence of a wide range of people.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care and experience with records management and document control.

Relevant employment clearances will be required upon appointment (costs covered by Guide Dogs SA/NT).
