The Opportunity

CARE Australia (part of CARE International) is an international aid organisation working to defeat global poverty by supporting women to create lasting change in their communities around the world.

In this role as a Finance Assistant, you will support our finance team with day-to-day operations. You’ll be responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable, keeping financial data up to date, assisting with general ledger reconciliations, and helping out with key month-end and year-end tasks. You’ll also play a key role in reconciling donations and microfinance receipts across various payment platforms and ledger accounts.

To secure this opportunity you will ideally have:

• A strong understanding of accounting and accounts payable principles, with demonstrated experience in data entry, account reconciliation, and experience with finance systems.
• Proven organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines independently.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality client service, with the ability to respond to queries in a timely and professional manner.
• A team player attitude with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships within diverse and cross-functional teams.
