Across Australia – in cities, country towns and rural communities – their work touches every demographic and age group. They are involved in national issues while also bringing hope to people who may be experiencing hardship or injustice.

The Role – Manager, Trusts & Foundations

  • Manage a national portfolio of philanthropic funders, ensuring strong, values-driven relationships.
  • Oversee the full funding lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate across departments to craft large-scale, strategic funding proposals that drive impact.
  • Track sector trends and champion the value of philanthropy within the organisation to strengthen TSA’s positioning as a preferred funding partner.

Your Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and execute strategic plans effectively.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or Trusts & Foundations grant writing.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants and crafting compelling funding submissions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with high-net-worth individuals and senior stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of fundraising best practices and the non-profit sector, ideally within faith-based or charitable organisations.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and project management abilities, with a collaborative and values-driven approach.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary and Benefits: Enjoy a competitive salary with access to not-for-profit salary packaging. Additional perks include free onsite parking and a range of consumer discounts.
  • Flexible Work Options: Enjoy a hybrid working arrangement.
  • Professional Development: The Salvation Army is committed to your personal and professional growth. You'll have access to ongoing training, development opportunities, and pathways for career progression.
  • Family and Lifestyle Support: Equal parental leave, access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the Fitness Passport for health and wellbeing.
  • Extra Leave Opportunities: Access up to 8 weeks of leave annually through Salvos purchased leave scheme, plus 5 days of paid leave each year to contribute to TSA programs or mission-based activities.
