With this critical purpose in mind they are seeking a General Manager- Youth Programs to lead the programs where the magic happens.

The Role:

The General Manager- Youth Programs is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program excellence across programs supporting young people.

This role ensures that services are designed and delivered to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people while aligning with the organisation’s vision and strategic growth objectives. Working collaboratively with your peers, you’d play a role in unifying operations supporting better ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a dedicated team who deliver programs for young people
• Lead quality improvement to enhance impact
• Build and maintain strong relationships with peak bodies, community organisations, schools, key government agencies, and funders
• Act as a media spokesperson on their programs.
• Responsible for delivering the financial sustainability of the youth programs, ensuring that financial targets, budgets, and resource allocation appropriately align with priorities
• Partner with the cross functional teams to embed best practice models and continuous quality improvement across youth services, and share learnings
• Monitor and drive continuous improvement and program excellence
• Work with internal stakeholders to identify and respond to opportunities to grow their offerings, sharing evidence from their programs and the positive impact outcomes the programs seek to deliver
• Ensure all programs comply with relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding standards

Required Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the youth, community, or social services sector.
• Strong strategic planning, financial management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract management, compliance, and risk oversight.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing teams in a dynamic and distributed service environment.
• Strong understanding of funding models, grant writing, and philanthropic engagement.
• Demonstrated communication and partnership-building skills.
• Strong networks in the Government, Community and For Purpose sectors with demonstrated ability to leverage and partner, in establishing more impactful programs for young people.
