Role responsibilities

As the Finance and Reporting Manager, you will report into the COO and manage one direct report, and straddle both operational and strategic responsibilities.

In this role you will have a focus on budgeting and analysis and be the driving force behind efficient and accurate financial reporting (and accounting processes) to support corporate giving, grants, and workplace giving programs. A continuous improvement mindset is encouraged and supported in this dynamic role.

• Manage, coach and support in the development of one direct report (Accounts Officer).
• Supervise BAU financial operations - general ledger maintenance, monthly payroll, monitor/manage cashflow and conduct month-end close processes (with support from Accounts Officer); ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Lead the preparation of monthly management reports, board reports, statutory financial statements, as well as ad hoc operational reports; analyse financial performance and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Support the COO with audit and risk obligations, attend/present annual budget and quarterly forecasts to the Audit and Risk Committee as well as coordinating audit processes (executing timely completion of external audits).
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting systems – rolling out improvements and training as needed.

Essential Requirements

Aside from the technical qualifications and skills listed below, you will be dynamic, proactive, and curious – questioning and suggesting where process improvements can be made. You’ll be passionate about the for-purpose space as well as the cause of the organisation in empowering organisations to make workplace giving an everyday activity.

• CA qualification or equivalent with robust experience in in financial management, reporting, and compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel - with the ability to conduct sophisticated analysis and reporting (with commentary) for varied stakeholders – both financial and non-financial.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Growth mindset and the aptitude to work autonomously as well as collaborate closely in a small team.
